C.S. Lewis, whose full name is Clive Staples Lewis, was a British writer and lay theologian. He was born in Belfast in 1898 and educated at Malvern College for a year and then privately. He gained a triple first at University College, Oxford, and was fellow and tutor there from 1925 to 1954, and then was appointed as Professor of Medieval and Renaissance Literature at Magdalene College, Cambridge.
